Phoenix Finish missing frames

Using Phoenix Finish 2023 and a very old AVI file.  No matter how I import the file it's missing frames.  The output video is out of audio sync and when I look at the Phoenix interface the frame count is less than the video.  Like the video is 42061 and Phoenix says 40687.  Any idea what's going on?  Thought maybe it was the format but no matter what I select be it one of the 29.97 formats or 23.976 or 30 it returns the same frame count within the app.

  • Hello John Riker ,

Would it be possible to send us a sample file so we can check what's going on? You can send a link to my email at gustavo.mendes@filmworkz.com

    Best,

I can try but don't know if cutting a segment will effect things.  I can share that I've been testing more.  The source is:

AVI 29.970 MPEG-4 Visual (Divx 3 Low) in AVI container

If I take this and put it into an MP4 container it will show the right info.  Right now running the source thru some AVISynth filters in VirtualDub so once that's done will see if the resulting AVI still does this.

    • John Riker We're not compatible with DIVX codecs, you'll need to convert to something else. We recommend Prores, but also accept XDCAM or Avid DNX as well.
