Scene Cut vs Scene Edit
In my workflow it's rare that I'll ever want a scene edit. Is there a way to have scene detection create cuts rather than edits?

Hi Craig Rogers we don't have a preference to select which one to use as default, but you can wait for the scene detection to be done, select all the clips, and click on this button at the bottom toolbar section of the interface to change between scene and edit cuts:

I am working on feature films imported via EDLs mostly. I had the impression that Frame Lock and Dry Clean produce more errors with scene cuts than scene edits. Though scene cuts should be the right to use as there are no actual handles or am I totally wrong?

All DVO tools prefers that the Edits are Scene cuts rather then Scene Edits, just as you say that there are no handles. the only one that could use edits is actually Framelock if the same camera have been used throughout all the scenes. but I would still recommend Scene cut processing as this will be safer to use and less false positives.

Warner Smith you can let scene detection finish its analysis, select all clips, then use the button on the interface to change from one mode to the other.
