Phoenix 2025.2 - Release Notes
Dolby Vision Update
Dolby Vision has been updated to the latest libraries and includes the new tuning and XML export options. Here’s a brief explanation from Dolby’s website:
“The newly introduced analysis tuning empowers colorists to choose the strength of highlight retention and mapping from a predefined set of spatial filters. Based on user preference, the tuning options will filter out less relevant highlight details such as small speculars, noise, and compression artifacts so that the mapped image serves as a better starting point for trimming.”
More information about the latest tuning options can be found here.
Interface Updates
A new dropdown was added to Nucoda and Phoenix Dolby Vision analysis layer; it includes the new tuning options available in the new SDK
After selecting your preferred option, click on “Analyze” and wait for the whole process to be done; do not change any parameters until the purple bar is fully green and the analysis is done.
The default setting is “Balanced”, and it can be changed on a per-shot basis.
After the analysis and trims are complete, click on the “Export Dolby CM...”, and select the name of the file and the export location; a new Window will open showing new options for CM version, Colorspace (in case you’re using one of Dolby’s workflows for Rec2020/P3D65) and Project aspect ratio. Other options are available, use them according to your requested delivery requirements.
Known Issues
- HDMI tunneling has been temporarily disabled to correct some unexpected behaviors, it’ll be added back to the software in a future release.
- When selecting a different analysis per shot, the selected analysis will not be shown per shot; this behavior will be fixed in a later release.
