I love the Scratch Target effect, but it somehow feels very rudimentary and unfinished. When it discovers a scratch, it does an awesome job at removing it, but unfortunately, it detects only about 25% of all scratches, leaving me to manually paint out the remaining 75%. Especially the detection of shorter scratches seems to be really non-existent.
Some of these remaining scratches seem to be so obvious that I'm not sure why Scratch Target is not picking them up. Others may be a bit trickier, but still…
I think there's definitely room for improvement here because adjusting the parameters does not really improve things much. There remain just a very large number of legitimate and visually identifiable scratches that fall through the cracks in this effect.
