Can't monitor the timeline

Hi, I feel I must be missing something very obvious, but I can't get any monitoring of the timeline when I go to edit. Just a black screen. Please can you help? Thanks.

    Hi Edmund,

This issue relates to a setting within the Phoenix preferences, this sends all video preview to SDI only. Please go to the Monotoring\Video IO settings within the preferences and disable the 'Display images only on SDI' setting, see below screenshot.

Let us know if this addresses your issue.

    Thanks

    Ian

    • Ian Smith Hi Ian. I've done that, and feel we're getting closer, but still no monitoring. I'm importing a DPX sequence at 2K (2048 x 1536 px). I'm using two monitors from a Windows 11 Intel i7 laptop. Another thoughts?

    Hi Edmund,

You should be able to see the video preview within the UI after turning off the Library pane. Have you enabled Dual Display mode?

As a matter of interest, which graphic card are you using in your system?

    Thanks

    Ian

    • Mario Rossi here's a link explain a bit of SDI:

Basically, it's a type of connection used in professional monitors that has a high bandwidth and complies with the latest SMPTE specs. If you're using a Blackmagic or AJA IO card, you probably have either HDMI, SDI or both connectors.
